Sports Injury Massage Treatments

Sports Massage No 1The Amber Health, Beauty and Sports Injury Clinic has been operating for over 10 years, and our Principal Therapist has gained a very good Professional reputation. She specialises in Soft and Deep Tissue (Skin and Muscle) manipulation or massage of the Muscle Structure of the Body. She is not a Physiotherapist, Chiropractor or Osteopath, all of which have their position, when it comes to offering Treatment. Our Principal Therapist, having studied Massage for over 20 years, and has attended many courses (On going) and has achieved numerous Certificates, all of which are available to view in the Clinic Treatment area. She is fully insured by BABTAC, of which she is a full Member, and has been for over 20 years.
Our Principal Therapist – Adelia Chamberlain. Adelia believes in addressing every Client as an individual, treating him or her as a whole person, rather than having set treatments to treat individual symptoms. She uses a variety of techniques and approaches. Typically: Deep and / or soft tissue massage or manipulation, integrated myofascial release therapy, trigger point pain release, mechanical and manual massage, deep heat treatment, low frequency vibro-sonics, lymphatic drainage, etc.

Sports Massage No 2
Please recognise treatments can be up to 2 hours in length, some can be very painful, and require weeks or even months of time, miracles do not appear over-night. You may have had the injury or pain for a long-time, perhaps not recognising the damage to your muscles you have been making and probably making them worse.
Best and quickest success, is directly related to the delay time to getting some repair treatment. Typically if it’s a simple muscle tear, you can help yourself by just getting an ice pack (e.g. frozen peas) to the injury as quick as possible. This will stimulate blood flow, which allows your body to help you.

What do we treat?

Sports Massage No 3The most common treatments are for backache or life/ occupational stress. However many other conditions affect the body frame: Sports Injuries, Joint Pain, Headaches, Breathing difficulties, Digestive troubles, postural stress, muscle tension and adhesion after operations, birth muscle strain, to identify a few.
Recently we have had some success treating Fibromyalgia, which is very encouraging for those concerned. Adelia has also had previous success with Stroke victims, one even ended up able to return to driving a car.
Please accept that if it is a long-term injury, it will take time to get results. Performing to our best ability is one thing, and the more successful results seem to come when the Client is also fully committed. Miracles always seem to take a little longer.
Specifically examples where we may (and have) been able to help:
Neck pain: Whiplash, Muscle Tension, Postural Strain, Headaches
Mid Back Pain: Postural Tension, Trapped Nerve, Rib Pain, Breathing Restrictions (e.g. Chest Pain from a Hiatus Hernia)
Joint strains: Shoulder, Elbow and Wrists, Hip, Knee, Ankle, Foot and Hand problems.
Lower back pain: Lifting Injuries (Common with Nurses and the Police), Muscle Strain, Motor Pain, Trapped Nerve, Whiplash, to name a few.
Pre Natal and Post Natal Massage, RSI, Driving (it is surprising how many Taxi Drivers we treat) and Work Strain.
We have recently introduced Scar Work addesion improvement treatments.

Whom do we treat?

Adelia treats patients of all ages, from children to the elderly, male or female that are within her expertise. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. When necessary, referrals to other professionals will be made.
